So I guess here's some pixel art after all! This is a quick test map I threw together to show off my forest tileset. Yes, it's supposed to look like a SNES game.
There are a few changes and additions I want to make, most notably map borders, but I dunno when I'm gonna get around to it, so I figured I'd upload it now.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate some hard critique on this, since I intend to use it in a game. Anything need work or look out of place, even something small? Do share!
I've done quite some tilesets already and I can say that this one is amazing! Not much colors but you did a masterpiece. Although, I think it's a bit too dark (well, maybe it's only me that see it that way because my LCD has stronger colors)
Man, that's gorgeous. I'm a HUGE fan of beautiful 2d stuff. I love this. I tried to really scan it for any possible thing that you might want to take a look at and I barely found one thing: the cave in the bottom left portion. It's the trail that leads to it. The stone doesn't continue into the darkness but rather the grass does. I would personally have it be stone all of the way into the cave, without the grassy border before the shadow hits. If you can understand what I mean :/ Yeah, that's all I could really find. I love this.
Hey, you're right. With the way I have the tileset set up, I could've easily done that, but it slipped my notice. Thanks for the heads up! I'll update it if I end up actually using this particular map, but when I said I meant I was gonna use this in a game, I meant the tileset. I should've clarified that more, but whatever.
Anyway, thanks! I have a few more tiles around, but not enough to really make a tileset out of. There will probably be more things in this vein in the future.
Keep it on
