Quite a nice render The water & terrain works quite well.
Photoshopped Render Bits:
Well, not bad, however, if you wanted the render to be more convincing (especially since this looks like a healthy terrestrial planetscape) You could implement tree's from stocks & such,
also your work with the waterfall is not bad, looks liek you smudged the waterfall? eitherway, overlay some textures like rocks underneath thewaterfall, also implementing rocks like its hanging out of the waterfall could add some nifty nifty depth
The planet in the sky is not bad, the blending of it into the sky is good,
it hides the often overused look of a greg-martin-tutorial type.
the colours a little funky, but not to bad, the ring is ok, but it dosnt have solid edges - if you observe a real ring, they have an edge, rings,
yours is like a swirling gas or something,
a planet ring has edges, this is why we should hate twirl filter!
Seem nice & calm, gives an attitude to the image which is nice.
Serene & comforting
Good job on that.
All in all:
A nice calm terrestrial space scape piece that is quite well done, but could do with a few more improvements
My favorite part is, without doubt, the rings on the planet. The whole thing is beautiful but I just love how they fade out so perfectly. It's gorgeous. Heck, the whole piece is beautiful! The stylization of the mountains works well in this but I don't think I like the waterfall as much. It seems a little...chunky? That's such a bad word but I think it's the best I can come up with. The reflection of the water at the top of the waterfall is absolutely lovely though. Very realistic feel to it. Overall, very beautiful piece!
Yeah, I know. x.x The waterfall is the weakest part of this piece, but I did that part in Bryce, and I don't know how to do better... Well, I guess I could always brush it or somehing in Photoshop. o_o;
Probably. When I said 'I know them', I meant they are someone that posts to a forum I sometime post on. I have no idea about where else they hang out on the internet, nor what other names they might go by in those places.
Yeah, I feel really bad for him, but he said they were expecting it, so it wasn't a shock or anything. He had cancer...
Thanks for the compliment. I'm still not very good with Bryce, though... I need to learn how to use that program better, really. I'm glad you like it, though; it means a lot, coming from an artist as great as yourself.
Oh, and I forgot to link to the tutorial in my description, didn't I? >< ;; Oops... I make it a point to do that, too. --; Well, if I edit it for some reason, I'll definitely put it in, but I don't want to bother my watchers with an edit for a minor thing.
Oh, Bryce is easy to use. I wish I could get my water to look like you had it in this piece, but I have no idea how to make good-looking water in Bryce... x.x I'm still no good with textures or any advanced editing. I really need to learn how to use that program better...
At any rate, thanks for the nice comment. Glad you like it.
This is a really beautiful render, and even better is that there was a purpose and love behind its creation. The only thing that stands out design wise, to me, is that everything seems very soft, very brush-like, except for the water. It seems a little out of place because of how glassy it is. The planet up above is stunning though! Bravo on that! May I ask what program you use? *boggle*
I mentioned programs in the description. Again, I used PS7 (planet and touch-ups) and Bryce 5 (the rest). I also dislike the waterfall, but I don't know how to do a better one in Bryce... x_x Hmm... *muses* But yeah, I should fix that.
X_x oops, sorry, I have been skimming through deviations because I am really behind, and I miss things sometimes. (I need to forget the definition of procrastination, since I am so good at it.) I do like this very much, it is something that I would never have the patience to do.
this is awesome. I really love it. Tell me when your prints account is up, I want to veiw it and pick one out for myself. ^_^ Rememeber to read the rules carefully tho. because you dont get the whole amount payed for the prints which is why you should go a little higher than the base amount to get a profit.
Heh, sure. I think I'll get at least one other piece of artwork up before getting one, though, and then make one or two prints... Should I make this one a print, you think? o.o I'm not sure... The quality isn't great, unfortunately. x_x But anyway, yeah, I've read all the help files on prints, so I know a bit about them.
recieved your note, I have kazza lite and lots of anti virus protection, I shall look for it. I was thinking you saved it as a jpeg right? try using bitmap its bigger but its much clearer and doesnt loose detail.
I agree the waterfall could use a bit of work, but I LOVE the subtle planet in the background- and the rings look fine. I look foward to your next deviation... Something with lots of comets would be cool.
